Uma Kelkar’s first book on sketching, Behind the Scenes: The Story of Unsung Sketches has been released for online sale. It’s a beautiful hardbound book with 35+ color photographs of never seen before sketches accompanied by a conversation on the importance of sketching. Accurate color matching and clean, easy to read font further elevates its quality.
Uma’s conversational style of writing is bound to inspire readers to indulge in their own doodling. The power and speed of sketching is impressive and Behind the Scenes exemplifies this point.
The book will be displayed at Uma’s upcoming watercolor show as well.

Two questions:
1) Do you ever teach workshops in San Francisco?
2) Where can I buy a copy of your book, Behind the Scenes?
Thanks.

February 16, 2017 2:59 pmHi Carla,
I have not taught in SF so far. It doesn’t mean I never will, but until summer of this year, there is no plan to do so. Would you like to be notified if I do?
You can buy the book by clicking on this link-

February 24, 2017 10:58 pmI just read that your very first watercolor workshop was with Alvaro. Wow! That’s quite the way to begin!! I took from Alvaro this last October, and I’m taking from him again in early April. I’m very excited to work with him again, but I’m sure my frustration level will once again be high. Maybe not as high as in October???? I can see how you have been influenced by both Alvaro & Zbukvik. I only wish that my painting can be as influenced by them as yours has been. Congratulations on that!
I’m going to buy your book right now.
Thanks Uma.
