The trip and around Lake Tahoe was gorgeous. Couldn’t have asked for a better weather – just enough cold, just enough snow showers so that my mother-in-law could experience a white winter.

From the observation deck at Heavenly

To get away from a kitchen that is being remodeled, we headed towards Lake Tahoe, southern tip to be precise. It was gorgeous one and a half day with fresh snow to play with. The experience of getting stuck in a traffic jam and then a snowy road did terrorize us on our way back. Though we had chains, we were unprepared to put them on confidently and drive on. So, when we were forced into wearing them, we did so under duress thus raising the stress levels of everyone in the car. Our little one threw up twice there on when we had to take a windy road back to Stockton before we headed to the Bay Area.
