If you have had kids or dependents and have long been envious of help your friends get so that you and your date can have a night to yourself, you will understand the post. We had our kid 9.5 years ago and it took all this while to sum up courage, to match schedules, have plan A, plan B and prepare mentally to abort all of it in case of emergency. We thought the younger kid would be appalled at our plan and were surprised when he pumped his fist in delight when he was told that we were going to be gone for two days. It is such a pleasure to not have to keep anyone’s activities from happening if you wake up late! A visit to a comedy club and dinner at Coqueta (sketch below) topped our two day trip.
