The idea of starving artist is not appealing to me. Intent is to stave of starvation and stave off being untethered to the real world all at once. The idea of isolating from stimuli until I am ready to create something is also disturbing. I engineer and paint in solo after I’ve made up my mind or after I’ve made up my strategy. But between these strategy making times, lies the time to think, to observe outwards, to make mental and excel based thumb rules, to cross pollinate and to reduce time to create.

  • Usually run around the lake takes 12-15 mins. Walking and sketching and chit chatting takes longer as evidenced this am. Procreate 5 has brought so many brushes in the mix - aaah! I’ve played today with two - Mercury (fits my style like a glove, doesn’t overlay like my style, but fine) and Inka.   • I am like a stuck tape when I say, I went to a cricket field and then I sketched. But soon, I will be the person who has sketched all cricket grounds in USA. Here is Woodley Cricket Fields in Los Angeles. I was sitting between fields so could look one way for one scene and turn my head for the other. Cricketers have been dropped from sketches because they really do look like stick figures at this age (12). Done in the @hahnemuehle_global watercolor sketchbook.
