Sometimes a time comes when the choices before you aren’t trivial. There are no experiences your own or borrowed to affirm your choices. But then a song comes along and full throatedly speaks to you. My recent purchase of Sia’s albums has been a revelation. With head phone blaring a message to me privately as I enjoyed the swaying shadows of an oak tree, I took up scenes that I don’t often paint – of a strong blue sky against the golden hills.  For the golden hills to begin, the blue however rich had to end abruptly. The choice was made in my head, justified and self validated. I didn’t paint any scenes at or below eye level. I have decided to keep my head high up.
